Aligner Timer is built so that your data stays yours. The short version: we don't collect, sell, or share any of your data — ever.
Aligner Timer records the information you enter while using the app: when your aligners are in or out, your treatment plan (number of trays, days per tray, start date, wear goal), discomfort ratings, and your settings. This data is stored:
None. Aligner Timer has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking SDKs, and no user accounts. We never see your wear history or anything else you do in the app. The one exception to "everything stays on your devices" is the Lock Screen timer relay described below, and it keeps nothing.
Reminders (for example, "put your trays back in") are scheduled locally on your device. Reminder content never leaves your device.
iOS doesn't let an app start its Lock Screen timer (a Live Activity) while the app is in the background — for example when you take your trays out from your Apple Watch. In that case your iPhone asks Apple's push notification service to start the timer, through a small relay we run on Cloudflare. The request contains an anonymous push token Apple issued to the app on your iPhone and what the timer shows (when the trays came out, the tray number and day, your wear goal). The relay passes it to Apple and forgets it: it has no database, keeps no logs, and can't tell who you are.
You can export your wear history as a CSV or PDF from Settings. Exports are created on your device and shared only where you choose to send them.
Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. To remove synced data from iCloud, go to iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage and delete Aligner Timer's data, or start a new treatment in the app's settings.
Aligner Timer does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Aligner Timer is a wear-time tracking aid. It does not provide medical advice. Always follow the instructions of your orthodontist or dentist.
If the policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
